Lugano Living Lab participates in the achievement of the objectives of the project, encouraging in particular the understanding of blockchain technology through training and dissemination initiatives and collaborating with the partners involved to enable local merchants to pay with cryptocurrencies.

Lugano's Plan B wants to promote and experiment with the use of blockchain technology on a large scale in the city.
From managing small daily transactions at local businesses to more ambitious projects - such as paying annual taxes - the blockchain will serve as the basis for the city's financial exchanges.
The City of Lugano and Lugano Living Lab were pioneers in the adoption of this technology with two experimental projects such as MyLugano and 3Achain that allowed the city and its stakeholders to touch its potential first hand.
Plan B has the ambition to further accelerate the adoption process with initiatives that aim to: promote the understanding of technology, train new professional figures, finance innovative business and research projects, enable local merchants to make digital payments, develop new use cases and create a technology competence center in the city.
