As part of the renowned international ARS Electronica Festival in Linz and on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Dalle Molle Foundation, Lugano Living Lab

Description

  • Lugano Living Lab with the Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence Studies — IDSIA (USI-SUPSI) — on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Dalle Molle Foundation, in collaboration with Lugano Living Lab, Events and Congresses Division of the City of Lugano — Longlake Festival Lugano and Ars Electronica di Linz, presented a series of concerts, installations and conferences on the theme of artificial intelligence and “A new digital deal”.

  • Artists and protagonists

    For the musical part:
    - Alberto Barberis in the work Invisible Through Bach
    - Ruse with Andrea Brites Marto and Danilo Gervasoni, a live influenced concert with real-time user feedback
    - Timo Hoogland with live automatic coding and a percussion concert based on the AI engine
    - Spime (main act 1)
    - Christian Löffler (main act 2)

    For the artistic part:
    - Gabirele Marangoni with the work FLUCSUS
    - Gysin — Vanetti with the work PRISMATIC BILLBOARD 1 AND PRISMATIC BILLBOARD 2
    - Angelucci and Cerea with the opera ALPHA

    For the conference and workshop part:
    - Between blockchain, token and NFT: future scenarios of the art market with Davide Baldi, (Luxochain Entrepreneur, Co-Founder and CEO), Michele Ficara Manganelli (NFTartSwiss Director, tokenization expert) and Alessandro Malossi (Digital Artist)
    - With the workshop How to create and sell an NFT starting from a work of art with Luca Ambrosini and Giuliano Gremlich, researchers at the SUPSI Institute of Information Systems and Networking)
    - Artificial and human intelligence compared to Luca Gambardella (Artificial intelligence expert and member of IDSIA), Markus Krienke (Full professor for Modern Philosophy and Social Ethics at the Faculty of Theology of Lugano, Director of Cattedra Rosmini) and Alain Kaelin (Medical and scientific director of Neurocenter of Italian Switzerland). Moderate Pablo Creti (Journalist and Digital Head of the Department of Culture and Society, CSR).
    - EquiD and the culture of recycling with Andrea Scarinci (Project Manager eQuID Project, Lugano Living Lab), Paolo Attivissimo (Computer journalist and writer), Cristina Giotto (Director of ATED) and Silvia De Ascaniis (coordinator of the UNESCO Chair in Digital Technologies for Sustainable Tourism at the Università della Svizzera Italiana). Moderate Giada Marsadri (musicologist and presenter).
  • EquiD used computer collection stand
    - The square of the new University Campus and some of its classrooms, the POLO FOCE, the Ciani park, the Monte Bar Hut were the main places that hosted the ARS ELECTRONICA Lugano GARDEN.
    - The Festival ended with a Digital Detox Day:DDD
    - Four Lugano areas (Belvedere, Spiaggetta ex-mojito, Darsena Parco Ciani, Foce Parco Ciani) have hosted activities “for the person” such as: Pilates, Yoga and Meditation.
    - The final event was a 'trip' to the Capanna Monte Bar where an electronic music concert (not intrusive, very ambient and therefore relevant to the place) took place with an internationally renowned artist, CHRISTIAN LÖFFLER. For this communication event, the use of cars to go to Monte Bar has been discouraged in favor of slow mobility. For this activity, some stores and bicycle suppliers in the Lugano area have joined to become partners and thus provide electric bicycles for the entire weekend at an advantageous price for people who showed up with the ARSelectronicLugano2021 “discount code”.
