How to communicate (offline and online) the impacts of climate change at local, national and global levels so that action can be taken?
L*3
- Public event open to everyone promoted byInstitute of Media and Journalism of the Università della Svizzera Italiana in collaboration with Weather Switzerland and the archives of MR. SSR.
Wednesday, 22 March 2023
from 10:00 to 16:00
at the Campus EST Lugano Multipurpose Classroom
We have been talking about climate change for decades now, but unfortunately scientific knowledge is still struggling to transform into everyday changes. So how can we talk about the impacts at the local, national and global levels so that we can take action? - The objective of the conference is to address, through presentations and conversations with industry experts, the impacts of climate change on the territory. How to read meteorological data and how to prepare for a 'new Ticino'? The images of the public service will help to understand if there have been, over the last few decades, any changes in the territory and in the way of discussing. Last but not least, together with journalists and activists, we will try to understand how it is better to talk about “climate change” to the general public so that we can move towards concrete actions.
