Description
- Now in its third edition, the cycle of meetings Digitize culture focuses attention on the relationships, potential and critical issues that link the cultural supply chain to the digital world.
After dealing with the theme of sustainable and open management of digital assets in 2016 and the new mediations of audiovisual heritage in 2021, this year's edition will bring attention to the growing contamination experienced by cultural practices. Although often perceived negatively, the term defilement reflects well the evolution of many sectors, which tend to have less and less clear frontiers and to develop collaborations, tools, and transversal strategies, internal and external to the cultural supply chain. - Starting from the experiences that various cultural actors have gained thanks to projects and initiatives, the syncretisms between traditional approaches and the digital world will be appreciated, noting, for example, the new horizons proposed by artificial intelligence in the field of territorial analysis and video games in relation to museums.
The contributions of speakers will be divided into the perimeter of the heterogeneous cultural galaxy, paying particular attention to the different intersections between digital space and cultural institutions, without forgetting the new possibilities related to academic research.
The main purpose is to provide an opportunity for meeting and interaction on the topic of the digital transformation that the cultural sector is experiencing, raising awareness among stakeholders about the potential and critical issues of digital technology. - What virtuous contaminations can be highlighted between culture and technologies? What are the impacts of the changes on organizations and support processes? What is the space for creativity in these liquid contexts? The meeting, organized by the System for the Valorization of Cultural Heritage (SVPC) will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, in Lugano, at Villa Ciani as part of the World Day of Audiovisual Heritage, in collaboration with the Events and Congresses Division of the City of Lugano, the Italian-speaking Swiss Radio Television Service (RSI) and the Center for Educational and Digital Resources (CERDD).
